The holiday season is here, so put on a toque, round up your loved ones and head to Lethbridge Polytechnic for Winter Fest, in partnership with Coca-Cola. It runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Trades, Technologies and Innovation Facility entrance on the south side of campus.

Enjoy an irresistible hot chocolate bar, warm up by the cozy bonfire and get your photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan on its only stop in Lethbridge. This free, family-friendly festival promises a fun celebration for students, alumni and the community. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Lethbridge Polytechnic Students’ Association Food Bank.

“Winter Fest is a great way to kick off the holiday season here in Lethbridge with our friends at Coca-Cola,” says Lanae Morris, alumni engagement co-ordinator, marketing, communications and external engagement. “This year’s event also includes a new twist — an engaging, week-long, take-home Holiday Cheer Challenge kit that combines baking, crafting, celebrating the season and more. Take part in each activity, snap some memorable photos and enter to win one of three Coca-Cola prize packs.”

Each cheer kit is also free and includes five holiday challenges. Complete all five for a chance to win one of three prizes: one for alumni, one for community members and one for current students. Each prize pack includes a custom Coca-Cola cooler that doubles as a sound system and comes packed with branded extras.

  • Day 1: Share a holiday photo – Take a photo of something that fills you with holiday cheer, like your twinkling tree, a warm mug of cocoa or even a goofy reindeer sweater.
  • Day 2: Share a Coca-Cola – Grab a cold Coca-Cola and snap a photo to share the moment. Whether you’re toasting with friends and family or sipping it by the tree, show off those festive Coke vibes.
  • Day 3: Share some holiday baking – Whip up a favourite holiday treat that makes your kitchen smell like magic, then snap a photo and share your delicious creation.
  • Day 4: Build a holiday craft – Using the wooden ornament in your kit, create a festive decoration inspired by the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks or Coca-Cola. Add your own personal touches to make your ornament one of a kind.
  • Day 5: Random act of kindness – Pay for a coffee, leave an encouraging note, donate to a food or toy drive or check in on someone who might be alone. Small gestures can create big ripples, so share your act of kindness as it may inspire others.

If your heart is set on winning this year’s prize, submit all five of your holiday challenge photos to our Holiday Cheer Challenge submission webpage. And, for a bonus entry, post your photo collection on Instagram using #KodiHolidayCheer.

Special thanks to Coca-Cola Canada for sponsoring this year’s event and for their contributions to both students and student-athletes at Lethbridge Polytechnic.
