Announcement
Jun 1, 2023
Bryon Anderson, director of government and public affairs and board governance officer, Lethbridge College.

Lethbridge College is pleased to announce Bryon Anderson, an engaging leader with more than a dozen years of experience working directly with government, businesses, Indigenous communities and associations, has begun his new role as director of government and public affairs and board governance officer.

Anderson will serve as senior advisor to President and CEO Dr. Brad Donaldson on government and public affairs matters, in addition to supporting the Board of Governors.

“We are thrilled to have Bryon join our team at Lethbridge College,” says Donaldson. “He has a wealth of experience in government relations, and I look forward to his support and guidance as we develop and advance good governance.”

Prior to joining Lethbridge College, Anderson worked with the Government of Alberta as a workforce consultant in the Ministry of Jobs Economy and Northern Development. He has also served in a variety of other leadership roles where he developed skills in program management, collaboration, community engagement and creative problem solving.

Anderson describes himself as a proud bilingual English-French speaking Métis Indigenous professional. He is nearing the completion of a Master of Arts in Indigenous Studies at the University of Lethbridge where his thesis explores the issues facing the Métis as they re-claim their culture and traditions as a unified Indigenous people. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Lethbridge and studied at what is now Red Deer Polytechnic.

Anderson is active in the community, having worked with the Lethbridge Local Immigration Partnership and as a United Way ambassador.

“I am very excited to join Lethbridge College and be a part of such an amazing organization,” says Anderson. “Lethbridge College has a proud history of governance and community engagement, and I look forward to being a part of that long-standing tradition.”

Anderson joins several internally appointed directors in recent months including Leeanne Conrad, director, Marketing, Communications, Alumni and Engagement; and Patrick Balfour, director, Financial Services; while Tracy Holt, Chief Financial Officer, joined the college’s Executive Leadership Team.

A complete list of College Leadership Council and Deans’ Council members can be found on the Lethbridge College website.
