Lethbridge College is providing a series of fun, skill-building and safe summer camp opportunities for children and teens in August. Run by the college’s Be Fit for Life Centre, available camps include mountain biking, dance and Totally U G!rl, as well as a duathlon training program for adults and teens.

As the Lethbridge College campus is still closed to the public, all camps will take place either outdoors, in off-site venues or online.

“We have revamped our summer camps to safely offer sessions this summer for ages four to 14 years,” says Caylee Vogel, Be Fit for Life program administrator. “Check out the outdoor mountain bike camp, online female empowerment camp and our dance camp at Urban Beat. We have limited seats for the in-person camps to ensure we can enforce distancing requirements to keep everyone safe, so be sure to sign up today!”

Registration is open now for the following camps:

  • Mountain biking – ages four to 14, Aug. 6, 20 and Sept. 3 – whether just starting out, or wanting to learn high-end skills that will allow them to push the limits of their riding, these three days of classes at Indian Battle Park are highly recommended for young mountain bikers.

  • Totally Dance Fusion – ages six to 14, Aug. 10 to 13 – Hosted at Urban Beat, no experience is necessary as dancers will experience a variety of dance styles such as jazz, hip hop, lyrical, Bollywood and contemporary, while also getting the chance to create their own original choreography.

  • Totally U G!rl – Ages eight to 12, Aug. 17 to 21 – This popular annual camp is going online, complete with all supplies delivered right to your doorstep. This specially designed program for teen and tween girls will allow them to meet new friends online, paint, craft, learn about nature, build healthy habits and try out some fresh recipes.

Be Fit for Life is also offering a duathlon training course open to anyone over 14 years old. Starting Aug. 11, the four-week program will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Participants will receive a semi-custom running and cycling training program as well as online and in-person coaching.

Register or learn more about the mountain biking, dance and Totally U G!rl at lethpolytech.ca/summercamps.
