While many of you have found a new routine balancing work and home life, some of you may still be struggling. The best advice for those who are having a difficult time transitioning into this, hopefully temporary, lifestyle is to continue with your old routines as much as possible.

  • Wake up, get ready for the day, eat, take breaks, and workout at the same time as you were doing weeks prior. Keeping these routines will not only make you feel better but also maximize your productivity.
  • If staying familiar to routine fails to keep your attention or maintain productivity, take this time as an opportunity to start and implement new habits. Find new or dial in on old forgotten habits that focus on your health, fitness, and mindset.
  • Drink more water, eat more fruits/ vegetables, get outside, workout from home, journal, read, mediate, turn off social media or stretch. These are just a few simple, great ideas. Find something that not only makes you feel good about yourself but is easy to implement into your lifestyle.

We are not able to control these circumstances, but we can make the best of them. We are all in this together and please know you all have my support. If you need nutrition coaching and or workout programming during this time, Recreational Services is still offering their services, Please e-mail Cheryl Ritzen, personal and group trainer and sports science nutritionist with Recreation Services. Rec Services’ nutrition coaching and workout programming are available for a fee that can be covered using your Wellness Account. Ask Cheryl for details.
