Overdose prevention training session open to the public
The public can register for overdose prevention and Naloxone training being offered at Lethbridge College by Lethbridge ARCHES. This training will provide you with the awareness of ARCHES services, harm reduction strategies, the skills to detect an overdose from an opioid and how to respond. Naloxone kits will not be issued at the session, but will be made available at ARCHES for participants. These sessions are open to members of the public, as well as college students and employees. Please register online in advance.

Find out how to give the gift of life
As a Canadian Blood Services Partner for Life, Lethbridge College invites its students, staff and alumni to commit to saving lives by donating blood. This month marks our 12th annual blood drive, and we want you to Be Ready to Save Lives. This week, we welcome Canadian Blood Services to Centre Core to answer questions and share information about the process and value of blood donation. If you don’t know what your blood type is, this is your chance to find out. To have your donations count towards the Lethbridge College blood drive, register online using Partner ID number LETH010182. By registering just once, each past and future donation will be automatically attributed to your Partners for Life group, helping Lethbridge College achieve its goal. While you’re on campus, you can also find iron-rich meals being served in our food court because we want you to be ready to donate!

Come to support students, stay for the great dinner
Students in Lethbridge College’s Culinary Careers diploma program will be serving evening dining this week as part of their ongoing education in not only the art of cooking but the business of running the Garden Court restaurant. Evening dining is a four-course meal or you can order individual items from the chef’s menu. Diners need to reserve by calling 403-320-3230 or by visiting the dining room’s Facebook page. Patrons get a great meal and the satisfaction of knowing they supported our students in pursuing careers in culinary.

Visit The Opposite of Addition is Connection Fair
Lethbridge College will welcome six of its community partners to Centre Core for an event called The Opposite of Addiction is Connection Fair. This is an opportunity to connect with services on campus and in the community to learn about prevention, harm reduction, treatment, education and support services. The fair is part of Addictions Awareness Week. Canadian Blood Services will have an information booth during the fair as we continue our month-long blood drive. Stop by to book an appointment to donate.

Celebrate National Child Day at a free family event
Lethbridge College and its community partners welcome families to campus to attend National Child Day, a free event featuring games, prizes, food, crafts, outdoor play and more. The first 75 families will receive a special gift. The Lethbridge Early Years Coalition and many community partners who are committed to celebrating and honouring the rights of the child organized this event.
