Start the new month by learning something new for summer
Lethbridge College Corporate and Continuing Education has three classes coming up in May that will get you primed for summer.
- Experience the true meaning of freedom this summer. Whether you’ve been riding for years, or are new to the motorcycle world, improving safety and technique is always important. Motorcycle Training is a multi-day training program designed to create skillful, safety-conscious and responsible motorcyclists. This program is for motorcyclists of all backgrounds and experience levels. The course runs May 10, 24 and 31. Register today!
- Don’t wait for Whoop Up Days to discover a love of country and western dance. Learn the basics of country and western dance. Steps may include the two-step, jive, polka and a slow dance. Course starts May 8, and runs from 7 top 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday for six weeks. This course is limited to 15 couples so register now.
- Looking at getting into fly fishing? This four-night course will get you ready to start catching trout in southern Alberta's scenic foothills and mountains. Course starts May 6, and runs Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6 to 9 p.m. for four weeks. Register now.

Invigorate conference a college-wide development day
Lethbridge College is offering a development day to all employees. Invigorate will offer something for everyone who works at Lethbridge College, with two keynote speakers and breakout sessions led by college colleagues. The conference theme is Community, Culture, Commitment. Wildlife expert and anthropology professor Brian Keating and comedian Kate Davis are featured keynote speakers.

The learning never stops at Lethbridge College
The college community will hold CanvasCon19, a half-day of learning devoted to our learning management system, Canvas. Staff and faculty will be leading sessions on the system’s capabilities and tips and tricks for using the system to support student learning.

Welcome to our newest international students
Lethbridge College will hold an International Student Orientation event for students coming to Lethbridge from abroad. The orientation session will begin in the E.C. Fredericks Theatre (CE1365) in the morning but will include breakout sessions on other parts of campus on topics including mental health and wellness, Canadian classroom culture, Buchanan Library services and other support programs available to them while they study here. Classes begin May 6 for the spring term in a limited number of programs, including General Studies, Business Administration and Academic Upgrading.

New student orientation and mature student welcome
The first day of classes is Monday, May 6 for spring term. To help new students get off to a running start, Lethbridge College is offering an orientation for individuals who are new to our programs and those who have been away from school for a year or more and want help getting reacquainted with being a student. Students who wish to take part in this introduction to programs, services and campus life should register in advance.
