Get a jump on learning immersive technology

With the recent launch of Lethbridge College’s new one-year certificate in Virtual and Augmented Reality, here’s a chance to get a jump on learning about these immersive technologies. The college’s Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) is offering an Immersive Technology Series designed to give participants an introduction to virtual and augmented reality and uses for 3D imagery. This series is designed for professionals who are serious about gaining knowledge and skills in immersive and spatial media. Upon successful completion, participants will have a foundation of knowledge in this exciting area and be able to build immersive and interactive scenes that run on popular hardware such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and iOS mobile devices. The courses will be taught with a combination of virtual reality, online and on campus, giving participants a range of learning experiences. There are two courses in the series, which can also be taken separately: Introduction to Immersive Technology course runs from April 23 to May 11; and Basic Image Capture runs May 13 to 31. Register this week for the first course in the series.

Doggy de-stress offers some exam week relief

Students and staff can stop by TE1228 to enjoy the company of lovable dogs for cuddles, tail wags and unconditional adoration. This program wouldn’t be possible without the help of dog owners from campus.
