Focusing on mental health

It’s Suicide Prevention Day. Lethbridge College will use the day to launch Kognito, a program available to all students, faculty and staff online to help increase knowledge and awareness of mental health and suicide. A virtual coach teaches users to practice effective tactics for getting others to open up and talk about what is bothering them, including the topic of suicide. The program takes about 30 to 60 minutes to complete. Lethbridge College also launched this fall a year-long program for employees called Not Myself Today. Developed by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Not Myself Today encourages employees to talk about and support mental health in the workplace. These are just two new ways Lethbridge College is promoting mental health and wellness.
