Kodiaks_WBB_2.jpgThree Lethbridge College Kodiaks have been singled out for their efforts during the 2017-18 ACAC season, earning all-conference honours on Wednesday evening. Amy Arbon was named a south division first team all-conference member on the women’s side, while Keanu Funa and Michael Clemons were each named south division second team all-conference members on the men’s side.

In her final season as a Kodiaks forward, veteran Arbon (fifth year, General Studies, Clearfield, Utah) tied for the team lead in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game. But it was her all-around game that caught the eye of voters as she led the ACAC in steals (69), was second in the conference in assists (105) and finished fifth in rebounds (10.1 rebounds/game).

Kodiaks_MBB_7_edit.jpgFuna (second year, Business Administration, Lethbridge), a homegrown product and graduate of Winston Churchill High School, had a breakout sophomore season. Despite starting only 12 of 20 games, the forward led the Kodiaks in scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game, while finishing 11th in the conference in shooting percentage (51.1 per cent).

In his first year with Lethbridge, Clemons (fourth year, Exercise Science, El Paso, Tex.) took control off the Kodiaks offense from the point guard position. He led the ACAC in assists (200), averaging over 9.5 per game, and was second in the conference in steals (54).

Clemons, Funa and the rest of the Kodiaks men’s team host the 2018 Cora Breakfast and Lunch ACAC Men’s Basketball Championships beginning tonight. The Kodiaks play Concordia at 8 p.m. in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium. A full Kodiaks playoff preview is available online.
