The sale of a new home in west Lethbridge has led to an $81,002.65 gift from Stranville Living Master Builder to Lethbridge College as part of the final year of The College Home project. The lead builder and returning partner announced the donation this morning.
The College Home project began in early 2013. In five year since its launch, The Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA) – Lethbridge Region and Lethbridge College partnered with regional builders, local tradespeople and suppliers to build and sell eight homes. Each builder then made a donation from the proceeds of the sale to Lethbridge College to support the recently-completed, $77 million Trades, Technologies and Innovation Facility.
“We are grateful to have amazing community partners who recognize the value our institution brings to the global landscape and actively invest in the future of our students,” says Dr. Paula Burns, Lethbridge College President and CEO. “Stranville Living has contributed greatly to Lethbridge College in the past and their continued partnership is helping to lead us into the future.”
Throughout The College Home initiative, Stranville Living was the only builder to take the lead on multiple homes, having previously taken part in year two of the project.
Stranville Living prides itself on its vision to enrich the Lethbridge community through various philanthropic ventures and impressive modern construction. This approach has helped position the local builder as a leader and innovator in Lethbridge’s construction industry and has made it a valued member of the community.

Mathews has been involved with The College Home build on three separate occasions – twice with Stranville Living and previously with Galko Homes.
Over 300 unique companies have donated time and services to The College Home project, many of whom have participated in multiple years. Lead builders of past houses include Ashcroft Master Builder, Avonlea Master Builder, Daytona Homes, Empire Home, Galko Master Builder and Signature Homes.

The sale of Stranville’s home marks the conclusion of The College Home project. The CHBA and Lethbridge College will invite community members and partners to celebrate the successful project at an event on June 7, where the final amount raised by the initiative will be announced.
Lethbridge College and its Trades, Technologies and Innovation Facility house a number of programs that support the local construction industry, such as Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, Interior Design Technology, Welder, Electrician, Plumber and Carpenter apprenticeships, and more.
