With 60 years’ worth of accomplishments, memories and friendships to celebrate, Lethbridge College is planning a party to match the excitement as Coulee Fest comes to campus next week.

Coulee Fest is a free event that will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, on the east side of the Lethbridge College campus, in celebration of the college’s 60thanniversary.

“What could be better than sitting outside, enjoying live music, food, drinks and good company?” says Dr. Paula Burns, Lethbridge College President and CEO. “This is a unique opportunity to welcome all of southern Alberta to our campus, whether you’ve spent years here as a student or employee, or have never visited us before. This is our way of showing our appreciation to our community for helping us achieve 60 great years.”

The all-ages event will have a community-festival feel, with live music, food trucks, beer gardens, a family fun area and an outdoor marketplace, along with college-themed touches such as campus tours and program demonstration areas.

“We want people to connect, both with the campus and with each other,” says Kari Bird, Coulee Fest organizing committee chair. “This is a great chance to bring families to campus, catch up with old classmates or visit the new and old areas of the college, all while having a whole bunch of fun.”

There is free parking on campus, although attendees are encouraged to use public transit, ride their bikes or carpool to Coulee Fest. Watch the college website or Facebook event page for more updates.
