Lethbridge College’s Leo Club is making a donation that will change the lives of students using Accessibility Services.
The club is donating two iPod Touches and a $200 iTunes gift card. Coupled with specific applications, the Touches are used by students who need more assistance in their courses.
“This extraordinary donation by the LEO club is particularly exciting because it is an act of students helping students on campus and that fellowship is an inspiration,” says Karl Rejman from Accessibility Services. “Measured in terms of the effect on student success the LEO club’s donation will be demonstrably significant.”
The donation of equipment will be of immediate benefit to current students and serve as a tool for making education accessible for many years and students to come.
“It’s important for us to get involved in our community in order to help be the solution to many of the problems we face today,” says Brittney Andrist, vice-president of the Leo Club.
The Leo Club is a volunteer organization comprised of students from the Criminal Justice program at the college. The club volunteers for many events at the college and within the community. Any donations made to the club are donated at the end of the year.
