This program is tailored to address the specific education and training needs of new recruits.
“Lethbridge College has one of the top Criminal Justice programs in Canada,” says Dr. Tracy Edwards, Lethbridge College president and CEO. “It’s always great to see our former students back on campus as they further their career in law enforcement.”
Graduates have taken courses that meet or exceed provincial standards in the areas of police recruit training and which further enhance the skill set needed to be effective in the policing field.
“We are proud to partner with the Centre for Advancement in Community Justice to train the next generation of police officers,” says Lethbridge Regional Police Chief Tom McKenzie. “The recruit training program combines academic excellence and a good blend of policing expertise to help ensure our newest officers are well-prepared and ready to begin their policing careers.”
The Police Recruit Training program was designed in collaboration with the police services of southern Alberta and Lethbridge College. The Centre for Advancement in Community Justice (CACJ) comprises Lethbridge College, Lethbridge Regional Police Service, Medicine Hat Police Service, and Taber Police Service.
