February 4th is World Cancer Day.

Learn about some resources and supports in Lethbridge and on campus for those concerned about cancer, who want to be checked for cancer, or who are struggling with their mental health due to a cancer diagnosis for them or someone in their life.   Free snacks, courtesy of Westco Construction Ltd will be offered, as well.

Gardenbloomsco will be on site selling crochet plants, flowers, plushie keychains, jewelry and more to raise money for breast cancer!  Their owner, Andrea, shares, “what started out as a hobby, turned into something beautiful! We started with handmade crochet flowers to jewelry. This way, people could gift a bouquet of flowers with jewelry to their loved ones. We also wanted to give back to the community where proceeds from our sales goes toward women fighting breast cancer. Our mom was diagnosed with breast cancer years ago, so this cause holds deep to us!”

Information will also be on tables outside Wellness Services in early February.

Make your free appointment with our medical team in Wellness Services if you want to talk about testicular cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer or any cancer!  We are a full functioning family doctor type clinic for our students and employees, so reach out!  Wellness.services@lethpolytech.ca or book online at Medical Services | Lethbridge Polytechnic

For students finding their mental health is struggling, free counselling is available by emailing our Counselling Intake Coordinator at:  counselling@lethpolytech.ca

Employees are encouraged to connect with our EFAP. Please contact 1-800-663-1142 or visit www.homeweb.ca
