Arrival Requirements:
- Students must arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled exam start time and check in at the main reception desk. This time is required for check-in, identity verification, and exam instructions.
Before entering the exam writing area, students must:
- Present a valid, original, government-issued photo ID (hardcopy), or a verified Lethbridge Polytechnic My Digital ID with photograph.
- Turn off phones, smart watches, smart glasses, and all other electronic devices, including but not limited to fitness trackers, laptops, iPads, tablets, and iPods, and store them in the provided lockers. These devices are not permitted in the testing rooms, even when turned off.
- Store all personal belongings in designated storage areas, including electronics, headwear, bags, notes, watches, etc.
- The only exceptions for headwear are religious garments, worn as an expression of faith. This headwear must be seen in the test-taker's ID photograph, and no substitutes will be allowed.
- Only water is permitted in the testing room (approved accommodation excepted).
- Gum and nicotine products (chewing tobacco, pouches, etc.) are not permitted in the testing room.
- Testing Services locker use is permitted while in the testing room only. Testing Services is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items.
Exam Conduct: once inside the exam writing area, students must:
- Follow all invigilator instructions:
- Lower hoods.
- Place permitted exam aids on the desk.
- Sign out and back in after using the washroom, if permitted.
- Remain quiet and respectful of other test-takers. No talking is permitted in the exam writing space.
- Refrain from writing on scrap paper until after the test has started.
- Do not communicate with other students.
- Raise their hand if assistance is required.
After their exam, students must:
- Return scrap paper, testing aids, and test materials to the main reception desk.
- Return lock and key to their original location.
Misconduct
Cheating and other forms of academic misconduct are a violation of our Student Rights and Code of Conduct policy. Incidents of suspected misconduct will be fully documented and reported to the instructor.
The following behaviours are not allowed in our test room and may be considered misconduct or cheating:
- Using any aids (electronic devices, books, notes, calculators, websites, etc.) without approval from your instructor
- Talking or communicating with anyone (except Testing Services staff) during an exam
- Giving or receiving help of any kind without permission during an exam
- Sharing a calculator, notes, or other resources with other students
- Taking photos or videos of exam content or using photos or videos to cheat
- Sharing exam content with other students who still need to write the exam
- Removing exam questions, answers, or notes (in any form) from the test centre
- Removing scratch paper from the test centre
- Failing to follow exam rules or instructions from Testing Services staff
