Applying for Residence?
We encourage you to apply for residence as soon as you are accepted into your program. Preference goes to full-time students at Lethbridge Polytechnic. Acceptance into residence is made in accordance with established procedures.
Our new MCR Housing software allows students to complete residence applications online, customize their information easily, match with potential roommates & self select rooms.
To submit a residence application:
- You must first be accepted in to your Lethbridge Polytechnic Program.
- You must also return your signed offer of admission for your Polytechnic Program and your tuition deposit must be paid.
Completing these 2 steps will mark you as having "Active Student Status". Once you have obtained active student status you can can then sign in to our MCR Housing platform using your Lethbridge Polytechnic email and password. This will take you to your individual student housing dashboard within the MCR Housing system. Navigate to Housing Forms for available residence application forms for both WINTER 2026, and the 2026/27 Academic year (September 2026 - April 2027).
Unless otherwise noted on your application, your contract is in place for the Fall and Winter terms. Summer extensions can be accommodated for current residents and open in January. If you wish to return to residence the following year, you will have the opportunity to reapply beginning November 1st.

Rates include the following:
- water, sewer, heat, electricity, and Wi-Fi in furnished units.
Note: The Lethbridge Polytechnic Parking Traffic Bylaw Enforcement Policy is in effect. Student parking passes are available for purchase at the bookstore.
Rent is payable per term, exceptions are made for Family housing and monthly sponsored students.
Payment of fees is on a term basis, except in the case of family units where the fees are paid monthly.
Lethbridge Polytechnic Acceptable Payment Methods:
- Online Bill Payment/e-transfer/ EFT/Bank Transfer: please pay through “PayMyTuition”
- Cheque/Money Order: Payable to Lethbridge Polytechnic, mail to 3010 College Drive S, Lethbridge, AB T1K 8A2
Fall term rent due: Aug. 1
Winter term rent due: Dec. 1
You may cancel your application for residence at anytime prior to June 15th with no penalties.
For contracts starting in the Fall term, a $550 cancellation penalty is applied after June 15th and $1,100 cancellation penalty is charged after July 15th.
For winter-only applications, you can cancel your residence application prior to Nov. 1 without penalty. A $550 cancellation penalty is applied after Nov. 1 and $1,100 cancellation penalty is applied after Dec 15th.
Once you have a room assignment, you have entered into an agreement with Lethbridge Polytechnic. If your contract is canceled for any reason, a penalty of $1,100 is applied to your account.
Agreements signed for both Fall and Winter terms are in effect from Aug. 31, 2025 to April 29, 2026, inclusive of the break between terms. You are not required to vacate your residence nor will you be charged additional rent. If you are not returning as an active, full time student for the Winter term, your contract will be cancelled and the contract concludes on the Fall only contract date.
You must inform the Residence Life office if your student status changes or you no longer require a spot in residence.

Yes, barrier free units are available in Kodiak House and some Two-bedroom suites. These units are wheelchair accessible and are equipped with a single extra-long bed, lowered counter tops, and an accessible bathroom.
