Printing Services
As a student or employee, you can print from lab computers, your laptop, or even your mobile device to printers across campus.
Here's what you can do:
- Send your print job to the campus print queue
- Note: Fleet printers are high-speed (40–65 pages per minute) and include features like stapling and three-hole punching in the price per page
- Release your print job using your PaperCut ID or your S-number and password
- Locate a printer near you
- Print to the lab printers
- Note: Lab computers are set up to print directly to the printer in the same lab
- Add funds to your print account
- Manage your PaperCut ID

Printing from your Personal Device
Windows & Android Users (add print queue to device):
Visit this page and install the app on your smartphone or personal laptop (your device will need to be on campus wireless to utilize this feature). Select Mobile Print, and use your s-number and password when prompted. You can now send any print job to Mobile Print from your device.
iOS & Mac Users (send to AirPrint as needed):
Visit this page and follow the instructions to utilize AirPrint (your device will need to be on campus wireless to utilize this feature). The name of the AirPrint printer to use is Mobile Print. Enter your s-number and password when prompted.
Printing from Polytechnic-Owned Computers (Employees)
PC Users
- Right click on the Windows button in the bottom-left of your task bar
- Click “search”
- Type: \\print1 for office printers or \\print2 for lab/student printers & hit enter
- Find [Printer Name] & double-click it to add it to your profile (this may take a moment)
- The "Printer Name" is found on a label on the printer
- You can also add Secure Print Staff on \\print1 to make use of the secure print queue
Mac Users
- Go to system preferences
- Printers and scanners
- Click the “+”
- Double click the printer of your choice
- Select the first driver in the list
- Finish
- Remove your old printer by selecting it and clicking “-“
Bonus: Mac users (Secure Print for Photocopiers)
- Go to system preferences
- Printers and scanners
- Click the “+”
- If you do not have Advanced as a ribbon option follow the instructions below:
- Right click beside the Search box in the Add window
- Choose Customize Toolbar
- Drag the Advanced option to beside the Search box
- Click Done
- If you do not have Advanced as a ribbon option follow the instructions below:
- Click Advanced
- Type: Windows printer via spoolss
- URL: smb://print1/secure%20print%20staff
- Use: Generic Postscript Printer
- Click Add

Please Note: PaperCut is currently only available using campus internet.
To create or edit your PaperCut ID, log in to PaperCut and follow the directions below
- Enter your username (“s” number) and password
- Click Log in
- Click Change Details in the left menu
- Enter a six-digit (or longer) number in the New Number field
- Click Change Number to apply the change.
- Note: If you see an error, please choose another number
Please Note: This service is currently only available using campus internet.
When printing at the Polytechnic, you are charged $0.10 for black and white pages and $0.25 for colour. To add money to your print account, log in to PaperCut and follow the directions below:
- Enter your username (“s” number) and password
- Click Log in
- Click on Add Print Credit in the left menu
- Select the amount you would like to add to your print account
- Click Add Value
- Choose to pay with:
- PayPal
- Log in with your account and submit.
- Credit Card
- Fill out the required information and select Pay.
- PayPal
- You can now print
Once you've sent a print job to the Mobile Print or Secure Print queue, you'll need to release it from the printer. There are two ways to do this:
Note: Be sure to select your finishing options (i.e.: double-sided, stapling, colour, etc.) before submitting your print job.
Use your PaperCut ID
If you've created a PaperCut ID, you can sign in at the printer using the ID option on the touch screen.
Use your S-Number and Password
If you don't have a PaperCut ID, you can still sign in using your S-number and password.
Once you're signed in:
- Select the job you want to print and select Print
- You can also delete unwanted jobs
- Copier functions are also available once you're signed in

Staff and Faculty Orders
Order Submission
Submit orders using our online Job Ticketing Submission site.

What Types of Orders Should I Send to the Digitex Print Shop?
- High volume (200 pages or more)
- Specialty print (such as premium paper, business cards, paper orders, offline finishing, wide format posters, banner stands and mounting)
Student and Retail Orders
We are happy to help you with print projects at our on-campus print facility!
- Turnaround is three or more business days depending on complexity (larger Marketing projects are seven to 10 business days)
- Use the online order page to submit all simple orders (no other forms of submissions will be accepted)
- Note: Simple orders submitted by email will be returned with request to use online process moving forward

Fleet Supplies
Paper – order using the Job Ticketing Submission site – include your room number and Q# (found on printer) for tracking purposes.
Staples – order by emailing digitex@lethpolytech.ca – include your room number and Q# (found on printer) for tracking purposes.
Toner – levels are tracked online and new toner should be delivered to your location before you run out.
Fleet Service Calls
Software – Paper Cut, digital printing or login issues – call ITS Help Desk – local ext. 3333
Hardware – Jamming, poor print quality, etc. – call Digitex to place a service call – 1-877-344-4839 – reference your Q# (found on printer) and give a description of the issue.
