Be Ready for a great career at Lethbridge Polytechnic. Our job is to equip you for yours, so we have compiled the information you will need to set you up for success.
The Interview Process
Our effort to support your success begins in the interview process. You will enter your application in our applicant tracking system called People Admin. The system prompts you to share key information about yourself and upload documents in support of your application. If you are selected for an interview, Human Resources (HR) will contact you and provide more details. Please let us know if you require any special accommodations. We aim to make the interview process as comfortable as possible for each candidate so your strengths and skills can shine. Once interviews have been conducted and a decision has been made on the preferred candidate, HR will contact them to complete reference checks and then potentially make an offer.
The Hiring Process
Once you’ve accepted a verbal offer, you’ll need to provide us with some of your personal information in order to get you set up in our system. You will then receive an email from our electronic onboarding system with a link to a checklist of items to complete. HR will coordinate with your manager/supervisor on all the details for your first day on campus.
Appointment Letter
Within a few days of your verbal acceptance of a position, your appointment letter will be emailed to you. It will provide you with all the information you need to get started at Lethbridge Polytechnic including your employee number (we call it an "s number"), an @lethpolytech.ca email and login information, and link to benefits enrolment. It also includes a link to our employee intranet which we call The Owl.

We have a variety of parking options to accommodate all employees. In order to park on campus, you will need to pay for a parking pass, either by purchasing a parking permit or through the Honk mobile app. Parking lots are designated as either employee or student lots and are all first-come first served. Full-time Continuing or Term Certain employees qualify for a monthly payroll deduction, which can be accessed through the onboarding program.
All parking inquiries are handled through Facilities Management so be sure to visit them with any questions that you have.
Employee Intranet
The Owl, housed on SharePoint, is the main digital workspace for Lethbridge Polytechnic employees. The primary purpose is to put information in the hands of all employees--whether that be news updates, forms, data or opportunities for learning and sharing. Because it’s a digital workspace, it is connected to the work sites you visit most often and need in your daily work and the documents you’re working on.
OWL is short for Online Work Life. It’s a starting point for your digital work day. The Owl is searchable. Meet someone and only get a first name? Search it. Wonder who is in a department, enter the department name to reveal their staff. Any number of searches can be performed. From The Owl, you can also access any of the Office 365 apps you need and you’ll find additional links to the apps we use across the institution.
Within The Owl is The Nest where you can find answers to questions you might have as you get to know Lethbridge Polytechnic.
Employee ID Card
You may have already completed this as part of your hiring checklist, prior to your start date. If not, please use the following link to submit your information. You will need a digital employee ID card for various purposes on campus, including some room access.
