Ways to Give

Contribute to the Annual Fund

Giving a gift each year or a small amount every month helps to create a sustainable annual fund to help students manage financial pressures, meet emerging needs, undertake new initiatives and keep the momentum going. Gifts of any size to the annual fund are welcome and appreciated. When many people come together to each give a little, the positive impact on students is great.

Invest in Student Awards and Scholarships

By supporting student awards and scholarships you can have a direct and immediate impact on Lethbridge Polytechnic students, empowering them to pursue their education with less worry about their finances.

Donate in support of an existing award or scholarship, or work with us to build your own student award that reflects your philanthropic vision. Take a look at our step-by-step guide to creating a student award.

Board of Governors Endowment Matching Program

Double your impact with an endowed gift to student awards. The Lethbridge Polytechnic Board of Governors has committed $500,000 in matching funds for new or existing student award endowments. Eligible gifts of $25,000 to $100,000 will be matched dollar for dollar—creating long-term, sustainable support for students. Matching funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. To learn more, contact development.office@lethpolytech.ca or 403-320-3457.

Build the Future of Kodiaks Athletics

The Kodiaks have a history dominated by championship titles, individual and team recognitions and academic excellence. It’s a history that is made possible by the generous support of people like you. Here are a few ways you can be part of the Kodiaks team:

Choose your team. When you adopt a Kodiak, you provide significant support to student athletes as they prepare for next years competition.

You can help develop our student athletes in the classroom, on the court and field, and in our community.

Leave a legacy through a planned gift

A planned gift to Lethbridge Polytechnic ensures your legacy lives on by supporting the creators, makers, and innovators of tomorrow.

Leave a bequest in your will

A bequest lets you make a significant gift that may not be possible during your lifetime while reducing taxes on your estate. Your lawyer can prepare a new will or add a codicil to an existing one to include your charitable wishes. You remain in control of your assets and can change your plans if needed. Download sample wording for your lawyer below.

While it’s not required to let us know if you’ve included Lethbridge Polytechnic in your will, sharing this information will help us to better carry out your wishes and fulfil your philanthropic vision.

Give a gift of securities

Donating publicly traded securities, either now or through your will, is one of the most tax-effective ways to give. Eligible securities include stocks, mutual funds, and certain registered plans (ex: RRSPs, RRIFs, TFSAs) traded on Canadian or U.S. exchanges.

Once you complete the Securities Transfer Form, please return a copy to Lethbridge Polytechnic. Your investment advisor will use the broker details on the form to complete the transfer.

If you let us know to expect a gift from your DAF, we will be able to direct it to the program, project or fund you want to support.

Important Note

We encourage you to consult your legal, financial, or tax advisors to ensure you receive a full and accurate explanation of all aspects of your proposed charitable gift.
