The Board of Governors Endowment Matching Fund is a $500,000 initiative designed to encourage the creation and growth of student award endowments at Lethbridge Polytechnic. Eligible gifts of $25,000 to $100,000 to new or existing endowments will be matched dollar for dollar. Donors may include individuals, corporations or foundations. Funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Your personal information will be used for the purpose of updating and maintaining alumni and/or donor records, alumni and/or donor engagement and philanthropic activities, and to recognize your donation (first name, last name, and gift amount only). Your personal information will not be used or disclosed for any other purpose without your express permission unless required or permitted by law.

Yes. There is no minimum contribution amount to receive a charitable tax receipt. If you make your gift online, it will automatically be emailed to you at the address you provide. If you do not receive an email, please check your junk box. If you make your gift by telephone or in person, please allow at least 10 business days to receive your receipt by mail at the address you provide us.

Yes. You are welcome to designate your gift in support of an existing award or scholarship fund that matches your interests. We can even work with you to develop your own student award or scholarship fund. However, you are not able to designate your gift to any one particular student. Contact our office to learn more about supporting emerging priorities or a wide variety of projects at Lethbridge Polytechnic.
At Lethbridge Polytechnic, we are focused on giving students the knowledge and hands-on experience they need to excel in their future. Non-monetary gifts such as equipment, real estate or personal property including land, art or vehicles can assist us in engaging and immersive teaching and learning.

A donation is only eligible for a charitable receipt for the year in which it was received by an organization. Please keep the following in mind:
- Ensure your gift made by mail is postmarked by Dec. 31.
- Give your gift online before 11:59pm on Dec. 31.
- To give a gift in person, please be sure to visit the Development Office before the polytechnic closes for the holidays.

To establish a new student award endowment at Lethbridge Polytechnic, a minimum gift of $50,000 is required. With the Board of Governors Matching Fund, a minimum gift of $25,000 qualifies for a 1:1 match toward that total.
Lethbridge Polytechnic issues donation receipts for eligible gifts as per Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. We recommend consulting with your financial advisor to explore the best giving strategy for your circumstances.
Absolutely. Corporate gifts and gifts from private foundations are welcome and can be directed to scholarships, programs, capital needs, or collaborative initiatives that align with your organization’s goals.
Yes, multi-year pledges allow you to make a larger impact over time in a way that fits your financial planning. While the matching fund applies only to the first eligible installment of a pledge, the full pledge can still support an endowment.
Endowments are invested through a managed portfolio. Each year, a portion of the interest is used for the intended purpose, and the rest is reinvested to protect the value of the fund over time. Annual impact updates are provided to donors.
