Thank you for making a year-end gift to Lethbridge Polytechnic!

A donation is only eligible for a charitable receipt for the year in which it was received by an organization. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Ensure your gift made by mail is postmarked by Dec. 31.
  • Give your gift online before 11:59pm on Dec. 31.
  • To give a gift in person, please be sure to visit the Development Office before the polytechnic closes for the holidays.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact development.office@lethpolytech.ca.

Can I choose how my gift is used?

Yes, you can direct your gift to an existing fund or collaborate with the Development Office to create a new fund that aligns with your values or interests, such as supporting a specific program, scholarship, or initiative.

Can I name an award or endowment?

Yes, naming a fund is a meaningful way to honour a loved one, celebrate a milestone, or leave a lasting legacy. Minimum funding thresholds apply. Contact the Development Office for more information.

What is the minimum amount to create an endowment?

To establish a new student award endowment at Lethbridge Polytechnic, a minimum gift of $50,000 is required. With the Board of Governors Matching Fund, a minimum gift of $25,000 qualifies for a 1:1 match toward that total.

Are there tax benefits for giving?

Lethbridge Polytechnic issues donation receipts for eligible gifts as per Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. We recommend consulting with your financial advisor to explore the best giving strategy for your circumstances.

Can I make a gift through my business or foundation?

Absolutely. Corporate gifts and gifts from private foundations are welcome and can be directed to scholarships, programs, capital needs, or collaborative initiatives that align with your organization’s goals.

Can I pledge my gift over time?

Yes, multi-year pledges allow you to make a larger impact over time in a way that fits your financial planning. While the matching fund applies only to the first eligible installment of a pledge, the full pledge can still support an endowment.

What happens to my endowment after I give?

Endowments are invested through a managed portfolio. Each year, a portion of the interest is used for the intended purpose, and the rest is reinvested to protect the value of the fund over time. Annual impact updates are provided to donors.
