Today marks the start of Black History Month at Lethbridge Polytechnic, where students, employees and the entire Lethbridge community are invited to come together to celebrate Black pride, culture and history. This year is also a milestone for the institution, as the polytechnic celebrates 10 years of recognizing Black history on campus.
Lethbridge Polytechnic researcher profile series: Michael Kehoe
Dr. Michael Kehoe is a research scientist with the Mueller Irrigation Research Group (MIRG), within Lethbridge Polytechnic’s Centre for Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CARIE). Working within a small, interdisciplinary team, Kehoe develops software tools that help irrigators make better-informed decisions about when and how much to water their crops.
Lethbridge Polytechnic renews land lease agreement with the Government of Alberta
Lethbridge Polytechnic has signed a 20-year land lease renewal agreement with the Government of Alberta for its 395-acre research farm east of Lethbridge. The agreement, signed in July, reinforces a long-term relationship between the polytechnic and the provincial government as they work to expand applied agricultural research operations in response to industry needs.
Lethbridge Polytechnic, Bruce McKillop present 2026 speaker series featuring Ryan Straschnitzki
Ryan Straschnitzki, former Humboldt Bronco and wheelchair basketball Paralympic hopeful, will headline the 2026 speaker series. The event, presented by long-time Lethbridge businessperson Bruce McKillop and in partnership with Excite Lethbridge, will be held March 4 at the Lethbridge Trade & Convention Centre.
