Career Presentations

Career presentations are available for the 2024-25 academic year. To inquire about a classroom visit from the Student Development Coordinator send an email to careers@lethpolytech.ca or submit your request via the Integrated Student Supports webpage.

Resources

Career Development has an updated resource page that students can be directed to.

For instructors’ various resources and worksheets are available for you to use in your classroom pertaining to the labour market, resume and cover letter writing, job searching, interview preparation and networking. For a resource request, please contact careers@lethpolytech.ca. If we don’t have what you are looking for, we are happy to work with you to create a new resource.

Career Development understands that one of the biggest challenges facing students as they transition from the classroom to the workforce is skills understanding and articulation. Students develop valuable skills through various classroom assignments, assessments, group projects and WIL opportunities but often struggle to articulate these developed skills to employers.

Event Support

If you plan on hosting a program networking event or employer information session, Career Development is happy to support you by providing a presentation for students to prepare for the event and/or assisting with the facilitation.

Know the services available

Career development covers a lot of areas. Depending on the specific requirements it may be beneficial to direct students to one of the other polytechnic supports before contacting Career Development.

Academic Advisors are the primary resource for understanding program progression, credentials gained through a program and making changes to schedules and assessing program fit.

Buchanan Library is a great place to find support for research, paper writing and general support for polytechnic academic success.

Student Learning Services is a great resource for academic support not specifically covered in the program. Many of the workshops available can be highly beneficial, not just for academic success, but in developing habits and strategies that can be applied in the workplace.

Testing Services is an alternative to standard in class testing, which can provide a convenient way to arrange testing for your class while accommodating those students with external commitments. Testing Services can also be used for testing and certifications not administered as part of a Lethbridge Polytechnic program. Wellness Services provides a wealth of support, whether coping with the stress of being away from home for the first time, overwhelming course responsibility or dealing with severe trauma, Wellness Services can equip you with the tools to overcome and succeed.
