About the Library
The Buchanan Library is the hub of learning at Lethbridge Polytechnic. Known by its Blackfoot name, Niitsitapi’ksimpstaan (“Real Thinking”), gifted by Kainai Kaahsinnoonik (Grandparent) Peter Weasel Moccasin, the name celebrates the learning journey of the students who use the space.
We support students, staff, and members of the broader community with their information, research, and study needs. The library is the place to discover scholarly resources, work on individual or group projects, access a wealth of information in various formats, and find expert advice to assist you on your academic journey.
Library Access
Your Lethbridge Polytechnic ID card is your library card and is obtained through our Selfie ID process. Learn how to get your card. Community members are welcome to visit and access select services. View our current hours to plan your visit.
