Adriana Morrell, PhD

Faculty
Dr. Morrell is an instructor and researcher at Lethbridge College with expertise in Soil Science, Plant Physiology, Mycology, Microbial Ecology, and Agronomy. She is the founder and scientific lead of the Mycology Research Laboratory at Lethbridge College. Her mycology research expands to multiple areas, from improving sustainability in mushroom production using different types of food waste and agro-waste, to improving soil health and ecosystem productivity through management of soil fungal communities in both natural and agricultural systems. She collaborates closely with industry partners to ensure the practical application of research findings and facilitates the dissemination of information to stakeholders through reports, publications, presentations and online platforms.

Amy Hodgson-Bright, PhD

I have a PhD in English from the University of Alberta. I have written two novels for young adults. My teaching pedagogy aims to foster critical learning skills in students through both print-based and non-print-based texts, and to encourage them to be self-sufficient learners, readers and writers.

I am a Red Seal journeyman powerline technician as well as a Red Seal journeyman electrician. I have been involved in trades occupations my entire career. I believe in having a good work ethic and pride in workmanship. I hope to pass on my knowledge to give students a foundation for their chosen career as powerline technicians. Safety, teamwork and attention to detail are my focus.

Catherine Euston,

I have a BA in English and Secondary Education with a minor in French and a Master's of Fine Arts in Short Fiction. My areas of passion are online course development and interpersonal communications. Helping students learn to connect in meaningful ways in both their work and personal lives is my greatest joy. After a long career in secondary education, teaching in a wide variety of in person and online schools, I've landed at the college, where I hope to demystify the writing, research, and communication process for all students.

Catherine Hepp,

Catherine’s background consists of soil science, land use systems and change, ecosystem services, and plant taxonomy. Her research has largely focused on the socioeconomic and ecological consequences of land use change at agriculture-forest frontiers (SE Asia). Although ecological impacts are at the core, social science methods are incorporated to capture a holistic understanding through an interdisciplinary approach.

Christopher Hotton, JD, MBA

I received a diploma in Business Administration from Lethbridge College, a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge, a law degree from Brigham Young University, and an MBA from Thompson Rivers University. My teaching focus is business and environmental law, labour relations and financial planning.

Dan Kazakoff, MBA

I have 25 years of experience teaching and doing administration at the postsecondary level. I was also in the private sector both as a manager and as a consultant. I love teaching and focus on introductory business management, communications and business research.

I got my Alberta Journeyman Welding Certificate in 1999 and have welded ever since. I use this vast expertise in my teaching. My main focus is to combine as much of the latest technology into my everyday teaching.

David Maze, MAIS

Dave was born and raised in Edmonton. He became interested in policing early in his life and joined the Edmonton Police Service Venturer Cadet program while in high school. After graduating from the Law Enforcement Program at Grant MacEwan Community College in 1985, Dave then began a 27-year career with the Lethbridge Police Service. Dave is married to Helen and they have one daughter, Katherine. Dave enjoys golfing, fly fishing and travel with his friends and family.

Everett Hanna, PhD

Dr. Hanna holds two diplomas (applied fish and wildlife biology), an honours Bachelor of Science degree (biology), and a PhD (ecology and evolution) with more than 20 years’ experience as a consulting wildlife biologist and researcher focusing on the management and conservation of game birds, songbirds, big game, and various at-risk species across North America.
